ABOUT US

Our mission is simple: we want to help.

Life has thrown us some curveballs. We all have to deal with them at some point. And thank goodness we do.

Some people choose to look at life’s curveballs as a negative thing. We actually treasure the hard stuff. Because it was that hard stuff that led us to Bliss B4 Laundry.

Our vision for Bliss B4 Laundry involves reaching as many Canadians as we can with a simple reminder to step back from the busy and overwhelming hamster wheel we sometimes find ourselves on – and instead – take a breather.

The events we create at Bliss ask us all to stand with the squeaky wheel silenced. Just stand and listen. Reconnect. Remember. Rediscover.

Because it is during these ‘pauses’ in life that we regain focus. We listen to our heartsong. We reconnect with what makes us truly happy. We heal.

Bliss B4 Laundry was born out of friendship

and a desire to help.

Bliss B4 Laundry was conceived by two long-time gal pals, Gabriela Flores and Sarah Hutchison. Fast friends in university studying International Development, these two women bonded over a shared desire to make the world a better place.

Fifteen years later after choosing two very different paths in life involving travel, marriage, children, divorce, mental illness, and personal health crises, Gaby and Sarah have come together with a mission to create events that help, heal, transform and inspire change in the people who attend them.

A friendship that began with ideals and visions on a grand, international scale has circled back to find inspiration and passion at the personal level.

Inspirational Leaders, Wellness-preneurs & Event Organizers

Gabriela Flores Gabriela has a heart of a Latina, a mind of a Canadian, and a spirit that belongs to the world. Moving around the globe started at early age. She was born in Toronto but spent her childhood in Venezuela. In her teens she moved back to Canada to complete high school and university, at which point she developed a craving to discover what’s out there. She worked seven years for the United Nations dividing her time between chasing hurricanes and working towards making this world a better place. She lived in five different countries, married, divorced, completed a triathlon, tried learning a few languages, and was touched by the hundreds of people she met along the way. Today, after traveling a quarter of the world (still so much more to explore), she decides to come back “home.” The year 2013 gave her a chance to re-group and re-launch her life. Her heart has always known that her purpose in life is to help others whether it’s at a community or individual level. She’s made it a mission to find ways to transform the human body from deprivation to abundance. Her passion is food: to get in the kitchen and experiment with new ingredients to make them delicious, nourishing and extract their power to heal.

Sarah Hutchison As a busy mom, wellness-preneur, and a typical 'creative', Sarah Hutchison loves to run with exciting ideas. The pulse of her creativity flows from a deep sense of 'self' developed through years of committed recovery from illness and efforts to restore balance to her life.

Diagnosed with mental illness after the birth of her children, Sarah turned to spirituality and writing as a catalyst for her transformation. Learning firsthand the power of storytelling and authentic expression through her blog, Roots B4 Branches, Sarah uses this platform to challenge the stigma surrounding mental illness by telling positive, hopeful stories to inspire change.

Trained in Ontario as a teacher, Sarah owned SPARK Global Learning for ten years, an educational consulting company that worked with clients like UNICEF, UNESCO, The Jane Goodall Institute and The National Film Board of Canada, to create engaging resources for educators and schools. Having authored over 75 publications in Global Education, Sarah Hutchison was a leader in her field.

A natural intuitive, Sarah understands her life purpose to be one of service to others, coming alongside, particularly women, to inspire them to be the Highest, most authentic, most joyful version of themselves. As an extension of her own journey, Sarah co-founded Bliss B4 Laundry with Gaby, and the two haven't look back since! The community of women touched by the 'magic' of Bliss B4 Laundry events continues to grow and expand welcoming new members into the fold each day.

Most recently Sarah has teamed up with a close, personal friend, Cristol Smyth, to birth another idea that has a momentum and creative force all it's own. She Thrives is an innovative women's wellness centre located in Downtown Belleville, Ontario - offering a wide variety of services, classes and events in a safe, welcoming and feminine environment. This project combines the wisdom of gathering women with the transformative healing potential of a multi-disciplinary team of gifted mind, body and soul practitioners. The result is breathtaking.

An avid traveler and ever-passionate rooter for the underdog, Sarah loves to explore new places, particularly in the Global South. In fact, the more diesel in the air, the better! Having unplugged from life many times before, even to travel Thailand with their two boys in tow, Sarah and her husband value the richness of experience travelling brings. Currently saving for their next adventure, the pair plan to continue to inspire their children to appreciate cultural diversity through firsthand experience.

Going forward Sarah aspires to travel and teach as a radical self-love coach and author. She grounds her dreams in a loving home-life in a peaceful green energy home with the love-of-her-life, Leon, and their two beautiful sons, Aidan and Ethan.
